The W3C Spain Office and Fundación CTIC are pleased to present Tantek Çelik, Jeffrey Veen and Tim Berners-Lee, among other noted Web standards experts at the third edition of Fundamentos Web 2007 (Web Foundations 2007) on 3-5 October in Gijón, Asturias, Spain. After two weeks of hard deliberations, the evaluating committee has decided that the three CSS that better comply with the criteria of usability, accessibility, novelty, size, standard implementation and display in different browsers, are the following:
We really appreciate the time and care you have spent in the designing of your CSS. We hope to see you all in October.
After solving certain problems with last-minute unlawful votes made after the official limit time, the selection of the most popular styles have been published. The three winners will come out of this list. They will be selected by W3C staff in accordance with the established evaluation criteria.
We really appreciate the participation of all the people who have sent their styles, and congratulate the selected designers. The styles between the 10th and the 16th places of the ranking are at draw, so it has been decided to include them all in the final selection.
More than 19,000 votes have been received, out of which 11,000 correspond to minimum value votes and 5,000 to maximum value.
Irregular votes have been detected during the opening of the voting system. The votes have been updated with real values.
The voting period is opened. We have some problems with the voting system due to the massive access of users to the site. We hove to solve it as soon as possible.
The deadline to send the CSS designs for the ‘Fundamentos Web 2007’ contest was yesterday’s midnight. We have received more than 50 proposals, so it seams it will be a hard-fought competition. The popular voting period starts tomorrow, and it will be open until 29th May, inclusive. With your votes, you will choose the ten designs which will be assessed by the evaluating committee, chaired by Bert Bos, co-inventor of CSS.On 13th June 2007, the winning style and the two finalist designs will be made public, and the conference web site will be officially launched.Thank you for your enthusiasm and good luck.

It seems that the Easter Egg was very well hidden and nobody has found it, so we have to wait until next year to know where the egg was.
There is an Easter Egg somewhere in the Fundamentos web page waiting to be found. It has been there for a month, and for the moment nobody has found it so if you are interested in winning a ticket to the conference, have a look around the web and if you find the Easter Egg, send us an e-mail quickly. You have until July 14 to find it. Come on, take part in the contest!
