- 12 Sep 2007 Microsoft, Google, Nokia and Adobe in ‘Web Foundations’
- 20 world experts on architecture and web design will attend the third edition of Web Foundations. Among them, well-known figures of Microsoft, Google, Nokia and Adobe; as well as the special participation of Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web and W3C Director, who will also take part in the event via videoconference. - Tantek Çelik gives a workshop on microformats, the last day of the Fundamentos Web conferences. On the Friday 5th October, he will show the importance of microformats in the new generation of Social Web Applications, in a practical way.

- If you are interested in knowing more about the future of the Web, how the Web is growing and its current and future impact on the Society, do not miss the panel that will be held October 4. George Oates (Flickr), Tantek Çelik (Technorati), Hannah Donovan (Last FM), Eduardo Manchón (Panoramio), Ismael Nafría (Prisacom) y Rigo Wenning (W3C), chaired by Fernando Claver (PC Actual), will talk about these topics, sharing opinions and ideas from a professional and personal perspective.

- Matt May, Accessibility Engineer at Adobe, and also developer and technologist, will discuss about the accessibility of the new applications in the Web, among other subjects.

- George Oates, Lead Designer at Yahoo, and a founding member of the team that built Flickr, will also attend this year's Web Foundations.
- 4 Jul 2007 Jeremy Keith will also be with us in Gijón
- The famous Web developer, Jeremy Keith (Clearleft), known for the elegance of his designs and for his concern for accessibility, will also take part in Web Foundations 2007.
- 3 Jul 2007 Panel: Browsing among new technologies
- Representatives of the most well-known Web browsers at an international level, such as Doug Stamper (Internet Explorer), Mike Schroepfer (FireFox), Charles McCathieNevile (Opera), Arthur Barstow (Nokia), and Allan Sandfeld Jensen (Konqueror), will participate in a panel that will take place 3 October, and will be conducted by Bert Bos, CSS co-author and W3C Style and Maths Activity Lead. They will discuss topics such as complex layouts demanded by designers, the need of re-using information through semantic Web technologies, printing (using HTML, CSS, SVG, etc.), "widgets" (light-weight, client-side applications), as well as compound documents, always bearing in mind new technologies such as the Mobile Web, CSS3, XHTML2, new HTML, and so on.

- The W3C Spain Office and Fundación CTIC are pleased to present Tantek Çelik, Jeffrey Veen and Tim Berners-Lee, among other noted Web standards experts at the third edition of Fundamentos Web 2007 (Web Foundations 2007) on 3-5 October in Gijón, Asturias, Spain. Well-knowned representatives from Microsoft, Opera, Mozilla, Nokia, Konqueror, Flickr, Last FM, among others, will present at the event. After two weeks of hard deliberations, the evaluating committee has decided that the three CSS that better comply with the criteria of usability, accessibility, novelty, size, standard implementation and display in different browsers, are the following:
- Winner: Nouvelle web (by Adriana Pertierra Castaño)
- 2nd: Cantabrico (by Mónica Antón Suárez)
- 3rd: Css City (by Juan Francisco del Río Pacheco)
We really appreciate the time and care you have spent in the designing of your CSS. We hope to see you all in October.

- After solving certain problems with last-minute unlawful votes made after the official limit time, the selection of the most popular styles have been published.
The three winners will come out of this list. They will be selected by W3C staff in accordance with the established evaluation criteria.
We really appreciate the participation of all the people who have sent their styles, and congratulate the selected designers. The styles between the 10th and the 16th places of the ranking are at draw, so it has been decided to include them all in the final selection.
More than 19,000 votes have been received, out of which 11,000 correspond to the minimum value votes and 5,000 to maximum value. - 24 May 2007 Fair Play
- Irregular votes have been detected during the opening of the voting system. The votes have been updated with real values.

- The voting period is opened. We have some problems with the voting system due to the massive access of users to the site. We hove to solve it as soon as possible.
- 22 May 2007 On your mark, set, go!
- The deadline to send the CSS designs for the Fundamentos Web 2007 contest was yesterday’s midnight. We have received more than 50 proposals, so it seams it will be a hard-fought competition. The popular voting period starts tomorrow, and it will be open until 29th May, inclusive. With your votes, you will choose the ten designs which will be assessed by the evaluating committee, chaired by Bert Bos, co-inventor of CSS.On 13th June 2007, the winning style and the two finalist designs will be made public, and the conference web site will be officially launched.Thank you for your enthusiasm and good luck.

- 11 May 2007 Deadline for Sending Styles Extended
- We have received many requests asking for more time to take part into the contest. So, we have decided to extend the deadline for receiving designs. Styles can be sent until May 21. The popular voting begins on Wednesday, May 23, and the winner proposal will be published on June 13.
- 10 May 2007 We Move to Gijón
This year, the conferences and the workshop will be held at the Palacio de Congresos de la Feria Internacional de Muestras, in Gijón. So, the infrastructures are improved in order to achieve a better attendants' comfort. Organization will offer lunches during the days of the event.
- 10 May 2007 Panels, pens and shadows
- Lord Cyberon has proposed a new style based on panels: Panels, pens and Shadows. You can see the final result with this style applied. All styles may be voted from 14th to 20th May (both included).
- 3 May 2007 hex-it: the First Style
- We have the first proposed style for the contest sent by Min: hex-it. You can apply this style to the web site. We encourage you to take part in the contest. Send your design before 13th May.
- 11 Apr 2007 Fundamentos 2007 wears your style
- Preparations for the third edition of the Fundamentos Web Conference have already started. This year, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), we propose you to change the appearance of Fundamentos 2007 Web site with your own style sheet. The winner and the two finalists will be chosen, out of the most voted designs, by a committee made up of W3C staff and chaired by the CSS co-inventor, Bert Bos. You can take a MacBook or a Wii home.
