More than 300 specialists will attend the event. During two days, they will analyze the latest advances in web design and development

This meeting is organized by CTIC and W3C Spain, with the support of the Principality of Asturias, the Gijón City Council, and Opera Software

GIJÓN, 4th September.- The city of Gijón will the host of the fourth edition of the International Conference 'Fundamentos Web', on 27th-28th October. More than 300 specialists in web design and development, from different countries, will get together in this event. This meeting has become one of the most eagerly awaited appointments for the professionals of this sector, due to the chance of met the main World experts in this matter, in Spain.

This conference is organized by Fundación CTIC, and the worldwide Web consortium W3C, through its Spanish office in Gijón. It is supported by the Principality of Asturias, the Gijón City Council, and Opera Software. Furthermore, Elmundo.es and PC Actual collaborates with the event.

As in previous editions, relevant international professionals in the web community will be able to be listened to, such as the co-founder and President of Adaptive Path, Jesse James Garrett, who will explain the way the Web is headed towards, through an analysis of the latest development innovations.

On the other hand, in this edition the content management systems will have an important place through a panel with the representatives of the most well-known CMS, such as Dries Buytaert de Drupal, Wilco Jansen from Joomla!, and Alejandro Alves from OpenCMS. The chair of this panel is the Chief Standards Officer at Opera, Charles McCathieNevile.

Fundamentos Web 2008 will have international recognized specialists such as Eric Fain who, together with Indi Young (Adaptive Path co-founder), works in the integration of the users' perspective in the web design, and the aligning of the design strategy with the users' behaviour, using mental models.

In addition, there are other experts as Steve Faulkner, Technical Director at The Paciello Group Europe, and web accessibility expert, who will talk about ARIA. ARIA is a system which enables to improve the accessibility of the web content and applications. Furthermore, the accessibility expert at IBM, Becky Gibson, will offer a more practical point of view on the use of ARIA.

This year, five of the more well-known professionals in the national scene, chaired by Jesús Gorriti, interaction designer expert, will discuss about their personal and professional experiences related to interaction design.

The second day, 28th October, will be completely centred on two workshops. One of this focused on the use of non-intrusive Ajax, by the well-known developer Peter-Paul Koch. The other workshop, about aspects related to the way to adapt the web design to the human behaviour, will be held by Eric Fain.
