The Web has become an indispensable tool for most of our daily life. A Web which is increasingly inviting the user to become an active part in its evolution. The active participation of the society in the Web growth creates the need of having easier, faster and more attractive and interoperable applications, which is triggering the fast arising of technologies and mechanisms, and, thus, making the Web grow to limits that were unthinkable a few years ago.

The great variety of devices which allow accessing the Web nowadays (mobile phones, handset devices, videogames consoles, laptop computers, voice browsers, and so on), added to the heterogeneous preferences and limitations of the different users in different environments increases the need of improving the technologies which help developing the Web. The goal of this is a usable Web for all. Knowing these needs and their origin is the objective that leads us to gather experts on Web design in this international conference.
